NBA veteran Chris Paul has been in the league for so long. He wrapped his 20th season during the 2024-25 campaign, where he suited up for 82 games. It’s only the second time he’s played all regular-season games. The first time he did it was during the 2014-15 season when he was with the Los Angeles Clippers. At that time, Paul was still at the top of his game and even led the league in assists with 10.2.

However, CP3 isn’t getting any younger. The former top pick of the 2005 NBA draft is close to ending his basketball career soon. Although he hasn’t been vocal about when he’ll end his time in the league, many fans believe it’ll come quickly.

Paul remains a free agent and is weighing his options on which team to sign with. Recent reports say that the 12-time All-Star is looking to sign with either of his former teams, the Clippers and the Phoenix Suns. But a decision hasn’t been made yet.

Recently, Paul was at a panel, where he was asked about how much longer he’ll play in the NBA. The veteran star did not hesitate to answer that his time in the league might come to an end after a season.

“At the most, a year,” Paul responded. “I just finished my 20th season, which is a blessing in itself.”

Last season, he played for the San Antonio Spurs, his seventh team in his 20-year career. During the time he was with the young core of the organization, he averaged 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists. Chris Paul started in all 82 games he played after playing in a backup role with the Golden State Warriors a season before.

Chris Paul has been around for a long time, so most fans have been accustomed to his presence. Now that he’s in the twilight years of his career, fans have begun acknowledging the career of the future Hall of Fame guard.

Here are some of what the fans said about the 11-time All-NBA.

“Legendary career. Gonna be an elite HC,” a fan predicted Paul to become a head coach after his playing career.

“Chris Paul Certified First Ballot Hall Of Famer Right ?” another fan brought up Paul’s Hall of Fame probability.

“Im gonna be sad to see him go. Probably my favorite true point I’ve ever seen play,” one fan commented.

Im gonna be sad to see him go. Probably my favorite true point I’ve ever seen play. Not a single flaw in his game. It’s been an honor @CP3 you will be remembered well by those of us that saw you play 🫡

“CP is a first ballot HOF’r. Simply one of the best to have ever played.”

“Damn one of the smartest players I’ve ever seen play, hof career even without a ring”

“end of an era; with his knowledge I think he’ll be the next popovich”
