The Cleveland Cavaliers will enter the 2025 postseason after one of the most amazing regular seasons without LeBron James on the roster. Donovan Mitchell and Kenny Atkinson took charge of a young squad and turned it into one of the most exciting squads in the association.

While their chances of winning the championship are still far from secure, the Cavs are primed to make a deep postseason run should things go to plan. Few teams managed to crack past the Cavaliers’ style of play this season, and it would be fair to expect the same thing once playoff basketball is here.

It’s hard to understate how excited the entire city is about their team’s status in the league. It’s gotten to the point that one analyst covering the Cavs made a bold declaration about the team’s direction in the next couple of years.

Analyst believes the Cleveland Cavaliers have a similar trajectory to the Warriors dynasty

The Golden State Warriors’ dynastic run in the mid-2010s is the stuff of legend among NBA fans. Nobody could stop Curry and the Dubs when they were playing their brand of basketball.

While the Cavs haven’t achieved the same level of dominance as those Warriors teams, Chris Fedor claimed on a Wine and Gold Talk episode that the Cavs have what it takes to win multiple championships if the chips fall in the right places.

Fedor explained why he thinks his take isn’t wild at all, per the cleveland.com piece covering the discussion:

“To have all those guys locked up together and on the same timeline for contention, with the exception of Ty Jerome, that’s a really, really good place to be,” Fedor explained of the top eight players on Cleveland’s roster. “It feels like a group that is set up for sustainable success, especially because, look, everybody has an ego. This is the NBA. These are big money players. There are a lot of things that come into play. But the ego, the disease of me, it doesn’t feel like is going to get in the way.”

The Cavs do have one of the deepest squads in the league, meaning Mitchell doesn’t have to average more than 24.0 PPG to take the first seed in the Eastern Conference.

Atkinson also played a huge part in the team’s development into an elite basketball team. His use of Mitchell and Evan Mobley already has people talking about the former Brooklyn Nets head coach winning this year’s Coach of the Year honors.

The Celtics will be a giant roadblock in the Cavs’ pursuit of a championship, but the exciting style of basketball they’ve played so far should give them a fighting chance to make the Finals for the first time in seven years.
