Los Angeles Clippers center Ivica Zubac had his best season in the last one stat-wise and he is eying to improve even more this 2025-26. He was even voted in the NBA All-Star although he landed only in the 12th spot.

The Croatian big man recorded career high in points (16.8), rebounds (12.6), assists (2.7), and blocks (2.7) for the Clippers in his ninth year as an NBA professional. It was also the year he played the most games (80) and minutes (32.8).
Turned out, he was told about his significant role and he prepared himself for the challenge.

“That’s how I spent my whole summer, just kind of getting ready for that role and trying to make the most out of it. Once the season started, it was fun, man,” he said in an interview with Tom Azarly of Clutch Points.
Zubac was drafted 32nd overall by the Lakers in 2016. He has been with the Clippers since 2019 and became an indispensable big man for the team as the starting center.
Ivica Zubac is raising his own bar
This new season brings out another challenge Zubac is ready to answer the call. He believes he will be a player to watch out for by opponents and he is looking for ways to counter that.
“In the post, I saw a lot of double-teams last year, so I want to be able to face up and see that double team and if the guys back off, I want to be able to shoot that little mid-range shot,” he said.
“I want to be better with passing out of the double-team, finding the right man, and just trying to improve in everything that I did last year and years before. I’m just trying to be better, more confident, and trying to be better at everything what I did.”

Head coach Ty Lue is yet to release his offensive game plan for the new season but with the arrival of another big man Brook Lopez, it is interesting to see how the Clippers will continue to maximize Zubac.
