No Lebron James and Luka Doncic? That’s two Ls prevented by the Los Angeles Lakers, thanks to heroism by Austin Reaves.

The Lakers have gone 2-1 in the last three games both their superstars were out and AR stepped up big time in both games. He earlier shocked the league with his first ever 50-point game (51) to will his team to a victory over the Sacramento Kings, and this time, it he sent the roofs of the Target Center almost flying with his game winner to go 2-0 into the season against Minnesota that booted them out last playoffs.

It was not just the last play that should define Reaves’ performance as he was sensational all night long, scoring 28 points and dishing out 16 assists which is also a new career high.

His colleagues can’t help but react to another incredible performance.

“We got the coldest white boys in the league! We got the coldest white boys”, Lakers reporter Khobi Price wrote on X upon hearing it from the press conference and the locker room.

People pointed out that it was Jared Vanderbilt who shouted. The other white boy they are referring to is summer acquisition Jake Laravia who had 27 points and eight rebounds. This is the first time he started for the team.

Both Doncic and James were also having a great time with their teammates feat. The former is even calling him the GOAT.

Austin Reaves was the Lakers’s hero tonight hitting the game winning shot and ending with 28 points and 16 assists!

    — Earvin Magic Johnson (@MagicJohnson) October 30, 2025

For now, Reaves will need to unload everything he got as both Doncic and James will continue to be out. Next up for them are the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA Cup.
