The kid who once ran around Milwaukee Bucks facility has now turned into a man that fans will hope to help them win another title. Cole Anthony is a Buck, the second in his family after his father Greg who donned the Deer uniform in his last year in the NBA in 2002.

Cole was acquired by the Bucks over the summer from the Orlando Magic where he has spent his entire NBA career.

The younger Anthony said his father encouraged him to enjoy the city, an environment totally different from where he grew up which is New York.

“Make sure you get there early enough to enjoy a bit of summer,” he told Eric Nehm of The Athletic when asked about his father’s advice to him.

Cole, together with ex Orlando teammate Gary Harris, are reinforcements hide by general manager Jon Horst and Doc Rivers following the separation with Damian Lillard. He had his worst-year numbers-wise last after averaging a career low 9.4 points per game. He started in all games in 2021-2022 season but was a member of the starting five last season 22 times out of 67.

Cole Anthony excited to play with Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Greek Freak had success playing with guards AJ Green, Gary Trent Jr., and Kevin Porter Jr. last season. Those three played off the bench. Anthony is hoping to continue that and he believes their skills complement each other.

“I know his resume,” Anthony said about the two-time MVP.

“I’ve played against him, watched him play, and he’s a one-of-one player. I mean, the opportunity to get to run that little two-man action with him, that’s going to be legendary.”

Giannis and Anthony are yet to meet but the former already expressed excitement over his new teammate. He said the former Magic guard can be their X-factor.

Anthony said he is ready to adjust his game and make sure that he will provide whatever Giannis needs from him.

“So, I’ve just been watching the film of a lot of the guard actions they have and ways that the guards can score and be effective and play off him. Not everybody gets a chance to play with a dude like Giannis.”
