The Milwaukee Bucks’ nightmare season hit a new low Tuesday night as Minnesota Timberwolves escaped with an insane 139-106 victory at Fiserv Forum. Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert’s absence made things more humiliating for the Bucks.

Bucks head coach Doc Rivers reportedly blamed players’ tired legs for the blowout loss but forward Giannis Antetokounmpo shrugged off the idea in his postgame interview.

Just to recap, in that clash, Wolves led 76-45 at halftime, marking the largest halftime road lead in franchise history. So, the Greek Freak didn’t hold back in the locker room because they got destroyed before the halftime break.
Rivers blamed fatigue, saying, “I honestly thought we were playing with dead legs” after the Bucks returned from a road trip.
Antetokounmpo wasn’t buying it. He completely dismissed HC’s explanation for the blowout, saying, “I don’t think it’s dead legs. Dead legs cannot be [the issue]. How old is Mike Conley?”
Giannis says repeatedly that dead legs can’t be an excuse for himself and the Bucks:

After learning that Conley is 38 years old, Antetokounmpo didn’t hesitate to say that the Timberwolves guard was faster than the Bucks roster. Giannis confirmed, “Oh shit, I thought he was like 41. 37? He was moving faster than me.”
He added, “That cannot be an excuse. Cannot be an excuse. Dead legs cannot be an excuse. We have to be better.”
The franchise cornerstone then took full accountability before pointing fingers elsewhere, stating, “I’m always going to say that I could do things better. My effort wasn’t there. Maybe I wasn’t as focused as I should.”
He emphasized the mental approach over physical fatigue. “I wasn’t more aggressive, I wasn’t defensively more aware. I wasn’t more going downhill, making plays more. I don’t see the reason,” Giannis said.
It is surprising to see that Antetokounmpo just shredded Rivers’ schedule fatigue as the primary excuse. Fans can debate why the head coach and his player are not on the same page. But the fact is that fans also didn’t show mercy on the Bucks after disaster hit before halftime.
Home fans reportedly booed the team at halftime. Angry Antetokounmpo literally turned villain with double thumbs-down gestures in the third quarter after making an extraordinary bucket.
However, his effort seemed shaky at the end, as his squad didn’t perform up to the mark. The camera even caught him crying on the bench, even after scoring 25 points alone on the scoreboard.
