Kon Knueppel has hit a three-point shot in all of his games so far this season but one shot on Wednesday night’s loss by the Charlotte Hornets to the Indiana Pacers is extra special.

The Hornets rookie just became the fastest NBA player to reach 50 made threes in his career, an accomplishment that not even the likes of Stephen Curry wasn’t able to achieve.

The three-point shooting was not the only that stood out for him in that game as he finished with 28 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. The best part about it is he’s doing it with great efficiency according to StatMuse.

Charles Lee on Kon Knueppel’s milestone

Results aren’t there yet for the Hornets but Knueppel is giving them hope for the future. The 2025 fourth overall pick is proving game after game his worth.

Head coach Charles Lee thought the milestone was achieved by the 20-year-old player because of the system and players he is surrounded with.

“It’s great for a young player to have that type of success early on,” he said.

“He’s humble enough to understand that a lot of it is him, and a lot of it is his teammates too. That combination is putting him in a good spot, and he’s converting and showing us what kind of player he can be.”

Knueppel is averaging 26 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in the last four games. Just recently, he was named the no. 1 player in the NBA.com Rookie Ladder, surpassing the likes of Cooper Flagg and VJ Edgecombe.
