Dallas Mavericks swingman Max Christie, like many fans, believes that Cooper Flagg is the real deal after he saw him in action during the recently concluded Summer League in Las Vegas.

Besides Flagg’s undeniable talent and athleticism, the Dallas Mavericks rookie’s drive is what stood out to Christie, so much so that Christie thinks that Flagg will be among the league’s best soon.
“Cooper’s great,” Christie said about Flagg via Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News. “You guys are gonna be very excited to watch him. You should be. He’s so young. He’s 18. Working out with him, he’s got that drive to him, for sure. He’s gonna be good.”

“He’s gonna be an All-Star eventually in this league, hopefully if he continues to work the way he does. He’s got all the tools. He’s got the mindset. He’s going to be great for us,” he concluded.
Dallas Mavericks News: Max Christie is hyped to reunite with former Los Angeles Lakers teammate
In the same interview, Max Christie said he is happy to reunite with D’Angelo Russell because he is one of his closest teammates during his brief tenure in Los Angeles.

“I was happy,” Christie said. “I called him as soon as I found out. That’s one of my closest friends and closest teammates. We were together for two years out in LA, and I respect him a lot. I admire a lot about him and take a lot from his game, his demeanor, and how he plays. I’m happy to have him.”
Christie is excited for the 2025-26 NBA season as he thinks the Dallas Mavericks can make some noise in the Western Conference, following the moves they made in the past few weeks.
