Klay Thompson has high hopes for the Dallas Mavericks this upcoming season. According to the four-time NBA champion, if they are to make noise this year, it’ll likely be on the back of a spectacular campaign from teammate Anthony Davis.
Thompson even went as far as saying that Davis may be the best power forward of his generation during a recent episode of the Showtime with Coop podcast hosted by former NBA star Michael Cooper.
“AD, when he’s healthy, he is the best power forward, maybe of my generation. I mean, you’ve been able to see him up close with the Lakers. He is a two-way force,” Thompson said about Davis.
“There’s not many big men who can do what he does as far as his handle, his blocking shot ability, his freaking jump-shot… I think we personally have the best frontcourt in the NBA when we’re healthy. Like, we have so much depth in the frontcourt between PJ (Washington), Coop (Cooper Flagg), Gaff (Daniel Gafford), D-Live (Dereck Lively II), and AD,” he added.

NBA fans aren’t necessarily buying into Klay Thompson’s Anthony Davis take, as they named several other power forwards who they believe are above the Dallas Mavericks star.
“Giannis > AD… AD can’t stay healthy enough to even get an accolade on his own. Giannis was hooping and got MVPs (twice) and DPOY before he even won a title 🤷🏾♂️,” a fan commented.
