The Dallas Mavericks are among the favored teams to get Herb Jones of the New Orleans Pelicans. Jones, again seeing his team in a precarious standing this season, may find himself landing in a team that continues to be a formidable force sitting at the highest positions of the West.
The Pelicans are currently 5-20, surpassing the Utah Jazz as the lowest in the Western Conference. As December 15, dubbed as a hotspot of player trades, approaches, their roster might undergo significant changes as numerous teams target the team’s supporting players like Jones, per the report of ESPN’s insider Shams Charania.
“…Teams have already started expressing interest in the Pelicans’ supporting cast players, such as Jones and McCollum,” Charania posted.
Sportsbook Bovada Official discovered the Dallas Mavericks as Jones’ most probable team, as indicated by their odds. Other competing teams include the Memphis Grizzlies and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Jones is known for his defense; he was one of the NBA’s All-Defensive First Team last season. This season, he’s averaging 10.7 points, 3.4 assists, and 2.0 assists, although he’s yet to be fully stable from a shoulder strain that made him sidelined at the start of the season.
The former Alabama Crimson Tide’s versatile defense could benefit the Dallas Mavericks, allowing their stars, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, to focus on offense while supports like Jones secure their shots.
The Mavericks will face the Golden State Warriors on December 16.
Dallas Mavericks could be new home to Miami Heat star, according to NBA insider
After spending six seasons with the Miami Heat, Jimmy Butler is open to trade talks, with one of his possible landing teams being the Dallas Mavericks. The lingering rumors become more heated as Butler expresses willingness to land at the Mavericks and other teams.
ESPN’s Shams Charania revealed that “The Heat are open to listening to offers for Butler and making a deal if the proposal is right, league sources told ESPN, and Butler’s agent, Bernie Lee, has indicated in league circles that Butler is open to destinations such as two of the Texas teams (Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks) and the Golden State Warriors.”
Butler had a history with the Heat; he brought the team to numerous postseason appearances, involving two finals appearances. However, as his contract with the team ends, he’s ready to enter the playoffs with a different team, such as Houston, his hometown.
If Butler lands with the Dallas Mavericks, the team enters its superteam phase, joining Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and Klay Thompson. The three and their compelling supporting cast have already proven effective, and adding another star could increase their chances of winning a championship.
