Anthony Davis didn’t exactly have a great first game back with the Dallas Mavericks (by his lofty standards) in yesterday’s 129-119 loss against the Los Angeles Lakers. But for head coach Jason Kidd, seeing him out there on the floor is more than enough for him.

After missing 14 games, the Dallas Mavericks forward produced 12 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three blocks on 6-for-10 shooting from the field in 28 minutes. Last night also marked his first game back in Los Angeles since getting traded last February.
“I thought he was good for his first game back. Trying to get the rhythm. Trying to get the flow. Just being with those guys on the floor, I thought he was good on both ends. As we go forward, continuing to stack good minutes, and he did that,” Kidd said via Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News.

“I think the biggest thing is, as you know, in this league, the train keeps moving. No matter of a trade or a dismissal, you got to keep moving… As we go forward, we feel like we have a chance to win when he’s in uniform,” he added.
Dallas Mavericks News: Luka Doncic expresses admiration for Cooper Flagg
Meanwhile, Cooper Flagg had an impressive all-around performance for the Dallas Mavericks, as the rookie swingman chipped in 13 points, seven rebounds, 11 assists, and three steals on 5-for-11 shooting from the field in 36 minutes, drawing praise from Luka Doncic.

“I think he’s a good player. Obviously, there’s a lot of pressure that comes with the 1st pick, so he has a lot on his shoulders, but I think he will become a great player,” Doncic said of Flagg.
Besides Davis and Flagg, PJ Washington, Ryan Nembhard, Naji Marshall, Max Christie, Brandon Williams, and Klay Thompson scored in double digits, recording 22, 17, 16, 13, 11, and 10 points, respectively.
