Two games into the NBA Finals and the Boston Celtics are showing everyone how dominant they can be. This prompted sports analyst Stephen A. Smith to warn the Dallas Mavericks of a possible sweep by the Jayson Tatum-led squad.

In Game 1, Kristaps Porziņģis made a triumphant return by scoring 20 points and blocking three shots off the bench. The Celtics dominated the first half with a lead of up to 29 points. Although the Mavericks mounted a comeback in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to eight, a timely timeout allowed the Celtics to respond with a decisive 14-2 run, securing their lead once again.

In Game 2, Holiday was once again the best player on his team when he dropped 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Celtics. Jaylen Brown added 21, while Jayson Tatum made 18 points and 12 rebounds. The Mavericks, on the other hand, had All-Star guard Luka Doncic tally 32 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists as they lose to Boston with a score of 105-98.

Although Doncic has been phenomenal in the series, the Celtics are just too much for him alone. Hopefully, the momentum will shift once the Finals go to Dallas to play on the Mavericks’ home court.

At this point, many fans are now seeing a potential Celtics win in the NBA Finals. For sports analyst Stephen A. Smith, though, a sweep can possibly happen, as seen in a video shared by First Take on X.

“I’m not ruling out the possibility of a sweep if [the Mavs] don’t get their act together.”

As it stands, only Doncic is playing well for Dallas right now. If they want to extend the series, Kyrie Irving, PJ Washington, Daniel Gafford, Dereck Lively II, and other Mavericks players must find what made them work well together and use it against the Celtics.

This makes Game 3 a crucial one for Dallas since no team in NBA history has ever climbed out of a 0-3 hole. In any case, a lot of fans will surely watch the following match between these two teams.
