Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis is still determined to make a return to the lineup before the end of the 2024-25 NBA season. Davis has only played for the Mavericks once since getting traded by the Los Angeles Lakers. However, he was injured in the middle of the game and has been on the sidelines, dealing with an adductor strain.
On Monday, the Mavericks assigned the 10-time All-Star to their G League affiliate, the Texas Legends, where he had a 5-on-5 practice for the first time since his injury. Together with Jaden Hardy, the corporation assigned Davis to evaluate their performance. The team summoned them a few hours later.
While Hardy was cleared to play on the Mavs’ 135-131 loss on Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers, the team still hasn’t given a timeline for Davis.

During Wednesday’s broadcast of ESPN’s “NBA Today,” Tim MacMahon shared the suggestions made by some of the Dallas Mavericks’ personnel about Davis. Many believed that AD should sit out the entire season and go on without the All-Star center, according to MacMahon. The 2020 champion, however, has opposed the idea.
“He is steadfast in his determination to want to return this season, maybe as soon as next week, despite the fact there are people within the Mavericks organization that have tried to talk him out of it, said the risk-reward is not there,” the ESPN analyst said. “There are people who would rather shut him down for the season. AD is not trying to hear all of that.”

According to head coach Jason Kidd, the big man is trending in the right direction and had a positive experience during his practice with the G League team. However, there is still no timetable for his return.
Brother of a former Dallas Mavericks player talks about the Luka Doncic trade

Many people still haven’t moved on from the surprising deal that the Dallas Mavericks orchestrated to send Luka Doncic to the Lakers. The brother of Markieff Morris, one of the players who was involved in the deal, Marcus Morris, revealed his thoughts on the matter.
Morris was recently a guest on “The Kevin O’Connor Show” and gave his thoughts on one of the biggest trades in history. The former Los Angeles Clippers forward specifically talked about Michael Finley’s gesture of taking away Luka Doncic’s beer after they won the Western Conference finals.
“When I see Michael Finley take that beer out of his hand … As a player, I didn’t like how that looked,” Morris said.
“We just won, we’re celebrating, I have a beer, there’s cameras, and you kind of take that away from me, it’s almost like you’re trying to hint at something, right? As a player at that stature, I didn’t agree with that. I didn’t agree with how they tried to paint that picture.”
