Brandon Ingram is playing like a renewed player in his first season with the Toronto Raptors and in turn, the team is also doing well in the standings. The Canadian team are surprisingly good and Ingram is their leader in scoring.
Should he be an All-Star? The NBA has spoken and decided that he is not. The distinction went to a teammate.
Eastern Conference reserves are Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers), Jalen Johnson (Atlanta Hawks), Karl-Anthony Towns (New York Knicks), Pascal Siakam (Indiana Pacers), Norman Powell (Miami Heat), Jalen Duren (Detroit Pistons), and Ingram’s teammate Scottie Barnes.
They are joining the earlier announced East Starting Five of Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), Cade Cunningham (Pistons), Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers), Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics), and Jalen Brunson (Knicks).
Ingram has become an All-Star once in his career. It was in 2020, his first season with the New Orleans Pelicans. His career high in points in a single season is 24.7 in 2023 and he did not make the All-Star Game either.

Raptors have a game against Utah Jazz on the same day the ASG reserves were announced. Ingram was preparing the very moment the names were revealed.
Team’s jumbotron congratulated Barnes and was witnessed by Ingram himself. Coach Darko Rajaković made sure his player wouldn’t feel too bad. The coach earlier said that he has no doubt both his players will make it.
“You deserve it. You deserve to be an All-Star. Keep it as a chip on your shoulder, brother,” a mic’d up Rajakovic was heard saying.
