With their NBA careers on the rise, the Dallas Mavericks traded Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for ten-time All-Star Anthony Davis in early February.
Who’s Who?
Anthony Davis is in his 13th season with the NBA, starting in 2012 when drafted by the New Orleans Hornets which the following year the team changed its name to the Pelicans. Continuing with the Pelicans until 2019 when he moved to the Los Angeles Lakers, just until this month when he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks for Luka Dončić.

In 2017 with the Pelicans Davis was named All-Star MVP and later in 2020 with the LA Lakers, Davis won an NBA Championship.
Luka Dončić is currently in his 8th season with the NBA, drafted in 2018 by the Dallas Mavericks, who just recently moved to the LA Lakers in exchange for Davis.

Dončić was named Rookie of the Year in 2019 and has been a part the the NBA All-Star games since 2020.
Into the Numbers
In a regular season, Dončić averages 28.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game. Overall he has accumulated a total of 12,119 points, 3,664 rebounds, and 3,497 assists in his NBA career.

Anthony Davis in a regular NBA season averages 24.2 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. As of now in his NBA career, Davis has a total of 18,824 points, 8,341 rebounds, and 1,976 assists.

What does this Mean?
Davis has played 18 games this season where he scored 30 or more points whereas Dončić has only had 10 games this season scoring 30 or more points, ranking Davis higher as a scoring leader.

Overall in regular NBA seasons, out of the five main statistical categories, Anthony Davis has better averages in rebounds, steals, and blocks while Luka Dončić has better averages in points and assists.
