Nine-time NBA All-Star Russell Westbrook signed a deal with the Sacramento Kings. Westbrook and Dennis Schroder. They will play together for the third time on three separate teams.
Brian Windhorst says Russell Westbrook is now a journeyman and that Dennis Schroder will start over him: “I don’t mean to be Debbie Downer, Dennis Schroder is going to be their starter. He is on his fifth team in three years. Dennis Schroder can do a lot of things. He is a journeyman. He’s a journeyman for a reason. This is now Russell Westbrook’s seventh team in eight years. Okay, that is a journeyman. He is a journeyman for a reason.”
Schröder’s Case for a Starting Spot, Backed by Gold
Dennis definitely should be a starter. He has led his national team to two championships and Olympic semis, while winning two MVPs and being named to the all-Olympics first team.
Schroeder is on his 11th team in eight years. Dennis is also the definition of a journeyman, as well, since he has bounced around the league for quite a while.
The Media’s Disrespectful Treatment of Westbrook
The NBA media have been disrespecting this man for years, and it’s disgusting and sad. This comment was uncaused.
They love rewriting a man’s legacy the moment the spotlight shifts. Westbrook went from MVP to “journeyman” just because he kept finding ways to stay in the league.
