Basketball in Europe is on a boom once again. Dennis Schroder had the night of his life when Germany lifted the EuroBasket trophy, and his wife Ellen made sure the moment was celebrated in the most heartfelt way. Hours after Schroder was crowned champion and named tournament MVP, Ellen Schroder shared a moving message on Instagram that captured both pride and love.

“Happy Birthday, my beloved husband. Yesterday you gave yourself the greatest gift! European Champion and MVP of the tournament! The children and I are so incredibly proud of you, I can hardly put it into words,” Ellen Schroder’s post read.

Her message reminded everyone that Dennis Schroder isn’t just a player chasing medals, but also a family man whose achievements echo at home. She continued with even stronger words: “You are not only our hero, but above all an inspiration for the children, a sporting role model that everyone looks up to. A leader and teammate straight out of a picture book.”

The guard’s leadership helped Germany secure their first-ever EuroBasket title, and his personal story made the victory even sweeter. Ellen closed her post by writing, “I wish you continued golden growth! Full of victories, many more medals, full of happiness, full of health, and above all, full of love.”

For an athlete at the top of his game, Dennis Schroder’s legacy now with a new added achievement etched in its history. And with his family right by his side makes all these wins all the better.

Dennis Schroder Reflects on Dirk Nowitzki’s Lasting Influence After EuroBasket Triumph

After sealing Germany’s historic EuroBasket win, Dennis Schroder took a moment to honor the greatest German basketball player before him, Dirk Nowitzki.

“Dirk is a guy who changed basketball for all the big guys,” Dennis Schroder said, per BasketNews. “So, at the end of the day, I’m Dennis Schroder, and everybody got their own legacy. Dirk, what he’s been doing for the German national team and what he’s done in the NBA and in the national team made us come to the national team and represent our country.”

Given what Dirk Nowitzki has done for European basketball, Dennis Schroder’s tribute is a strong affirmation. Through the Dallas Mavericks legend’s contribution, it opened the doors that Europe has a place in basketball’s strongest stage.

And now Dennis Schroder, himself, may have just added prestige to German and European basketball. An achievement, no doubt, that earns the respect and the salutes of those watching the sport.
