The injury bug continues to haunt the Denver Nuggets this season, as Aaron Gordon reinjured his hamstring during their 102-100 road victory against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night – the second night of their latest back-to-back set.
Gordon hurt himself when he pushed the ball in transition during the second quarter and never returned. The Denver Nuggets forward, who had 13 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals on 4-for-9 shooting across 16 minutes, had already missed 19 consecutive games with the same injury. However, during the postgame presser, head coach David Adelman shared an optimistic take on this setback.
“It’s just the stress test. That’s what they go by. And they look at his body and how it responded to yesterday. The response was good. And let’s just be honest, this is not an exact science. These injuries, they can come back any time. Aaron’s had different ones that are similar, the soft tissue stuff,” Adelman explained to Bennett Durando of The Denver Post.
“I feel for him. He’s optimistic it’s not as bad as it was, the last one. Nobody made a mistake with him playing,” he emphasized. “You can only do what you can do. And we have the best people in the world making decisions. They believed that the stress test showed he was good to go, so he did.”

Denver Nuggets News: Julian Strawther scores season-high in points to lead the team past the Milwaukee Bucks
Julian Strawther led the undermanned Denver Nuggets by scoring a season-high 20 points, five rebounds, and three assists on 6-for-13 shooting from the field across 27 minutes of action to hold off the Milwaukee Bucks yesterday.
“Just trying to stay composed. Obviously, they made some big shots down the stretch, but we did everything we had to do to make sure we got the win,” Strawther told Altitude TV.
“It’s a lot of adversity, lots of ups and downs that might’ve affected the team. But I felt like we stayed even-keeled,” he continued. “(We did it) together – believe in everybody’s abilities, making the right plays, playing for each other, and playing with energy. That willed us through.
