Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray was finally named to the NBA All-Star team for the first time in his career, and no one is happier than his star teammate, Nikola Jokic.
Murray, 28, is averaging career highs in points (25.8), field goal percentage (49.2), three-point percentage (44.7), rebounds (4.3), and assists (7.4) this season. The one-time NBA champion is why the Denver Nuggets are staying afloat in the Western Conference after losing Jokic for several games due to a hyperextended knee.
“It feels really good,” Jokic said of Murray’s first All-Star nod. “He’s been playing at a really high level the last two years… It’s good for him to be there because he’s supposed to be there.”
“I wouldn’t trade him for anybody,” he continued. “Whenever I say who’s the top five of my career, he’s definitely No. 1. So, we have a great relationship on the floor. There’s so, so many good moments — bad moment, too — but that’s what creates good moments. So, it’s a pleasure to have him over there.”

Denver Nuggets News: Jamal Murray shares his mental approach ahead of the NBA All-Star Game
Jamal Murray said he plans to make his first All-Star Game count as he represents the Denver Nuggets by not “half-assing” it and bringing a competitive edge.
“I really kind of lost interest in All-Star just watching whatever they’re doing out there. I’d rather go on vacation if that’s the basketball we’re going to be playing… I would like to play (hard),” Murray said via DNVR Nuggets.
“I’m down to play one-on-one, I don’t care, I’m just a competitor,” he continued. “So, I want to be known as one of those guys who’s going to play hard every time he steps on the court.”
