Former Denver Nuggets guard Emmanuel Mudiay didn’t last in the NBA despite entering the league as the seventh overall pick in 2015, and Mike Miller has an idea why.

Speaking on his OGs podcast, Miller revealed how the former Denver Nuggets lottery pick didn’t maximize the mentorship opportunity that was afforded to him when they were on the same team from 2015 to 2017.
“When I was in Denver my last couple years, the ownership came to me and said, ‘Hey man, we need to work on this kid’s jumper and just work.’,” Miller narrated. “I said, ‘All right, cool, hit him up. I’ll be there tomorrow at nine o’clock.’ Shows up at 9:15. I’m cool with that, though. I’m like, all right, cool. Listen, young fella, I’m 38. I don’t really need this.”

“I’ll be here tomorrow at nine. Shows up at 9:30. I said to him last time, I said, ‘Yo, young fella, listen to me, man. Just so you know, I got one more again. I’ll be here tomorrow at nine.’ Shows up at 9:45. I hit up boss man, I said, ‘Hey this ain’t it.’ And this is a lottery pick now, and the motherf***er went out of the league,” he concluded.
Denver Nuggets News: Nikola Jokic named as a Top 10 center by former NBA star
Meanwhile, Emmanuel Mudiay’s former teammate, Nikola Jokic, continues to be one of the best players in the world, and former Denver Nuggets center DeMarcus Cousins recently called him already a Top 10 big man of all time.

“In today’s game, he’s top 10 all-time. If he wins another championship, we can easily start talking about top five. I think he’s that good—I think he’s that good early in his career—obviously, he has a long way to go with the remainder of his career,” Cousins said about Jokic via Run It Back.
“A lot more things might change, as far as accolades and achievements. The talent speaks for itself. The consistency speaks for itself, the dominance. Everything he brings to the game. If he wins another championship, he’s top five, and the conversation definitely starts to switch,” he added.
