The Denver Nuggets failed to clinch the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference but they are still going into the 2024 NBA Playoffs with momentum after defeatign the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday on the road, 126-111. Even scarier to hear for the the Nuggets future opponents is the revelation of Denver forward Michael Porter Jr. after the Grizzlies game.

The Nuggets, who missed the services of some of their key players late in the regular season due to inuries, are finally playing healthy again, which Porter talked about a bit following the win over Memphis.

“We just have an identity now,” said Denver forward Michael Porter Jr., who finished with 12 points, five rebounds and four assists. “It’s been a long time since we’ve stared playing together — our core guys. We’ve developed a chemistry.”

Aaron Gordon, Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope started alongside Porter and all played well, indicating the readiness of the Nuggets — even though they were just against the severely undermanned Grizzlies. Murray led the Nuggets with 21 points, while Jokic and Gordon each had 15 points. Caldwell-Pope scored 11 points and Christian Braun came off the bench and fired 19 points for Denver.

The Nuggets, who finished the 2023-24 NBA regular season with a 57-25 record, will face the winner of Tuesday’s Play-in Tournament game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the New Orleans Pelicans. Denver has the same record as West No. 1 Oklahoma City Thunder but the latter had the tie-breaker advantage
