Despite being one of the most dominant players to ever pick up a basketball, Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic also happens to be one of the most laid-back individuals in the NBA today. This is exactly why you have to take notice when the three-time league MVP sets his eyes on a specific player.

Apparently, Jokic really wants to play with Russell Westbrook.

According to Nuggets insider Harrison Wind of DNVR Sports, Jokic has reached out to the front office to urge them to trade for Westbrook from the Los Angeles Clippers:

“I’ve been told that Nikola Jokic actually has been pushing behind the scenes to get Westbrook to Denver,” Wind said (h/t Jesse Cinquini of AHN Fire Digital). “I’ve been told that Nikola Jokic wants Westbrook in Denver. He wants to play with him. It’s not the first time he’s wanted to play with him.”

In case you missed it, Westbrook took himself off the free agency market when he decided to pick up the $4 million player option of his current deal for the upcoming season. However, reports have indicated that both Russ and the Clippers are still working towards moving the former MVP via a trade deal.

The Nuggets have now emerged as a prime landing spot for Westbrook, who has to be one of Denver’s top priorities. After all, the front office must do everything they can to keep Jokic happy, right?
