In an exciting matchup on December 22, 2024, Nikola Jokic’s Triple Double Mastery helped The Denver Nuggets edge out an overtime win with a final score of 132-129. This game had a lot of nail-biting moments and had the fans on their feet, hoping for the team to improve to 15-11.

Although Jokic did fail to score in the first 21 minutes of regulation, he once again reminded us why he is the reigning MVP. He earned his sixth consecutive triple-double and tallied 27 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists.  He was again orchestrating the offense, scoring at will and dominating the boards which helped the Denver Nuggets win in overtime.

Jamal Murray had clutch contributions as the time was running out, he was able to hit key shots and finished the night with 27 points, while Russell Westbrook finished with 21. It has been a great month for Jamal Murray, as he was criticized for his play to start the season, and even had fans questioning his efforts. As of late, he has been playing really well, and we can see the vintage 2 man game he plays well with Nikola Jokic.

    The Pelicans Notable Efforts

The Pelicans showed that they have depth in their lineup, with reserve players like Jordan Hawkins achieving a season-high 25 points. CJ McCollum also added 24 points, highlighting the team’s offensive prowess despite the loss.

    Game Dynamics And Turning Points

The Nuggets faced a challenge with being down 17 points in the third quarter. However, the 3-time MVP was determined to get back into the game and helped the Nuggets with the comeback overtime win. Nikola’s scoring and assists to Aaron Gordon helped close the gap and establish a lead to secure the win.

The Nuggets showed that they are still capable of finishing games and bouncing back from large deficits. This win cements their reputation as strong competitors in the Western Conference. The Pelican’s loss showed they have the depth and potential to hang with any team in the league and they will have a bright future with their young pieces on their roster.
