The Denver Nuggets suffered a lineup blow when Peyton Watson exited early in the first quarter of their 128-125 overtime win over the Houston Rockets due to a “lower trunk” contusion.
The 23-year-old forward didn’t return to the game, which had Denver Nuggets fans concerned. However, head coach David Adelman recently said he doesn’t expect Watson to be on the sidelines for an extended period.
“It was bone on bone,” Adelman said in his postgame presser via ClutchPoints’ Rachel Strand. “It could be totally fine tomorrow. But it hurt him. It was one of those stingers that he just couldn’t get himself warmed up again. Nothing long-term as far as I understand. Just probably a bone bruise.”
With Watson out, Spencer Jones, Cameron Johnson, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Bruce Brown absorbed more playing time. With Aaron Gordon and Christian Braun already sidelined by injuries, the Denver Nuggets hope to have Watson back at 100 percent soon.

Denver Nuggets News: Nikola Jokic gets 100% honest on the Alperen Sengun comparisons
Nikola Jokic has often been compared to Alperen Sengun for their similar skill sets and production. However, the Denver Nuggets center feels that it is not necessary.
“People need to stop comparing us. He’s an amazing player by himself. He needs to be recognized by who he is. He’s definitely a talented player. He needs to be recognized as Alperen Şengün,” Jokic said via DNVR Nuggets
Both centers had 30-point triple-doubles on Monday, and these two teams will meet again on Saturday night.
