Detroit Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff heaped praise anew on Cade Cunningham during an appearance on the Road Trippin’ Show, comparing him to Dwyane Wade because of his ability to create plays at a high level.

“It’s like one night you’ll see something, you’ll be like, ‘Damn that boy’s cold.’ And then you’ll see something a week later, you’ll be like, ‘God damn.’ It’s one of those things where, I always liken it. I remember like Dwayne Wade, right? Like when Dwayne Wade became Flash, like I remember that year specifically when he was like falling down backwards and just throwing the ball up over his head, and it was just going in,” Bickerstaff explained.

“Like Cade is in that stage now where he just believes that he’s different. You and I were laughing about the Matrix, right? When Neo believed he was the one. Like Cade believes he’s the one now and like his game is translating it,” he added.

Cunningham was named to the NBA All-Star team for the second straight year after leading the Detroit Pistons to the top of the Eastern Conference with a 40-13 record, averaging 25.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 9.6 assists, and 1.5 steals on 46.2 percent shooting from the field across 47 regular season starts.

Detroit Pistons News: Cade Cunningham and Jalen Duren credited for “saving” the All-Star Game

Detroit Pistons stars Cade Cunningham and Jalen Duren surely made their first NBA All-Star together count, as they played at a high level last Sunday, eventually helping the USA Stars win the three-team showpiece event.

“It was a competitive game, we wanted to come out and compete. We had young energy on the team, and we wanted to set the tone that way,” Cunningham told the media via The Detroit News. “It was a blessing to be around guys I go to war with every day, especially in an environment at the highest level. It’s a blessing. We were all thankful to be here.”

“This was fun,” Duren said. “Obviously, this was my first time, but coming out here and being able to compete, get up and down the court, we had all the best players in our league. It was a great moment.”
