The Detroit Pistons lost 127-117 to the Sacramento Kings yesterday for their fourth loss in their last five. Despite their recent slump, Cade Cunningham isn’t too worried.

Cunningham did everything he could by pouring in 35 points, three rebounds, five assists, and two steals on 13-for-21 shooting from the field in 33 minutes. Tim Hardaway Jr. Ausar Thompson, and Malik Beasley added 19, 15, and 14 points.

“We’re in the same spot. We’re confident, we’re hungry and we’re looking forward to getting better every game. Last two games being losses, obviously not what we wanted but there’s something we can take from both of them,” Cunningham said via Detroit Free Press’ Omari Sankofa II.

The Detroit Pistons recently clinched their first playoff appearance since 2019. They now have a 43-36 record, good for sixth in the Eastern Conference.

Detroit Pistons News: JB Bickerstaff drops blunt assessment in loss vs. Sacramento Kings

Detroit Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff called out his team for their poor second-half showing because the Sacramento Kings outscored them 65-45. The veteran head coach said that this cannot happen in the postseason.

“Our execution of our game plan was poor. Understanding their personnel and their tendencies was poor. So that’s on us to be better,” Bickerstaff explained postgame.

“Obviously, those guys are elite basketball players who are really, really good. But, if you allow them to play to their strengths, they become even better, and we didn’t do a good enough job of taking away their strengths tonight,” he added.
