Dillon Brooks is some kind of brand and he carries it with him every game. The Phoenix Suns forward is a rugged defender, unafraid, never backs down despite the opponents’ superstar status. For that, he is loved by Suns fans and even their team owner.

It’s great to have such branding and one can live up to but there’s one draw back and Brooks thought he experienced it last time.
Brooks is the league’s current frontrunner for most technical foul calls with 13. He loves going extra when it comes to his possessions but he hates the last technical foul call he got. He thinks it was made only because the officials thought he is always the aggressor.
His latest was made during their win over the Washington Wizards.
“They say I antagonize or taunt when I’m speaking to a person who the possession before pushed me in my chest, which I got a T a past game before,” he told Duane Rankin of AZ Central.
“Then jog down, call me out my name I can’t say on media cause I’ll get fined like $50,000, $25,000,”

Brooks need to avoid getting three more as according to the rule book, a player who receives his 16th tech in a single season will get a one-game suspension.
Dillon Brooks drag Lebron James
Being a superstar is another branding in the NBA. With such differentiation, one could get away with some touching.
That’s what Brooks is implying when he called out himself getting pushed by another player and that player does not get punished.
“They give me a T for who I am. That’s weird and that’s unappreciative and this is the same ref who gets manhandled in the Laker game and doesn’t give a T out,” he continued.
“I’m not going to give any names. You can go look up who it is, but this guy needs to get looked at seriously. This is why I have a stigma with refs and this is why they’re so quick to T me.”

He did not name the player or the referee but it occurred during Suns’ game against the Los Angeles Lakers. The player is his favorite nemesis Lebron James and the referee was Scott Twardoski.
