Doc Rivers Blasts Bucks After Collapse Against Timberwolves Without 3x All-Star And 4x DPOY: “We Were Flat”

The Doc Rivers-led Milwaukee Bucks faced an undermanned Minnesota Timberwolves team on Tuesday. The Wolves were without their best offensive player, Anthony Edwards, and their best defensive player, Rudy Gobert. However, they were still outplayed and dominated at home. The Bucks dropped to 17-23 after a 139-106 loss, led by Julius Randle’s 29-point outing.

Without the Wolves’ best players on both ends, the Bucks were expected to at least keep it competitive. Unfortunately for Milwaukee, the team couldn’t keep up and relied on the production of its best player, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

In his postgame interview after the game, Rivers criticized the squad for their lack of effort.

“Just beat us off the dribble all night. I honestly thought we were playing with dead legs. I knew this was gonna be a difficult game, coming back from a road trip, having one game and then leaving again tomorrow…But no excuses. We just didn’t have it. We were flat,” Rivers said via The Athletic’s Eric Nehm.

Things haven’t been great for the Bucks this season. The team has been inconsistent throughout the entire campaign, making it difficult for them to be considered a playoff team.

Fans campaign for the Bucks to fire Doc Rivers

Fans believed that the Bucks should’ve won against the Wolves on Tuesday, since their opponents were short-handed. However, Milwaukee collapsed against Minnesota, which led the coach to call them out. But fans believe that it’s time for the franchise to move on from the coach and start to campaign for his firing on X.

Here are some fans who believed that Rivers should be fired by the Bucks brass.

“Get Doc rivers a** OUTTA HERE,” a fan said.

“Doesn’t matter what trades they make as long as Doc Rivers is the coach,” another fan commented.

“Any trade would be pointless as long as Doc Rivers is coaching this team,” one fan said.

“The Bucks seriously need to make a trade, Fire Doc Rivers, get Giannis some help, Fire Doc, etc,” someone commented.

“Most overrated coach in NBA history who is glorified for winning one championship ring with 4 superstars on a team. He should be ashamed of himself of ruining championship seasons of the many superstars he’s coached,” a comment read.

“The Bucks have devolved to an unserious team under Doc Rivers and there is no path to them being a serious team again while he’s the head coach,” one fan commented.

The Bucks haven’t hinted about their plans with Rivers as head coach.
