The Sacramento Kings are reportedly ready to move on from Domantas Sabonis. Sam Amico of HoopsWire reported on Sunday that the Kings are looking to focus on a rebuild ahead of the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline. Sabonis isn’t the only player they’re looking to offload, according to Amico. The league insider also mentioned most of the franchise’s core players.
Sabonis isn’t having the best season this year. Through 15 games, the big man has averaged 16.0 points, 11.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists. The Lithuanian center has struggled to stay healthy, limiting his time on the floor. He’s also played four games off the bench.
The Kings are indicating that they will be significant sellers in the upcoming trade deadline.

“The Kings are signaling openness to a full-scale teardown at the deadline, with a long list of recognizable names available for the right price. That includes Domantas Sabonis, Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Keon Ellis, Malik Monk, and Dennis Schroder,” Amico wrote.
“Yes. Basically everyone. That said, the Kings would want the sun, moon and the stars for Sabonis, sources indicated.”

The Kings are reportedly focused on longer-term plans, according to Amico. Although it would be painful for them to let go of Sabonis, the franchise’s decision isn’t an exaggeration.
The Raptors are rumored to be a trade spot for Domantas Sabonis
Domantas Sabonis’ name has been mentioned more than once in the trade market this season. The Toronto Raptors, Phoenix Suns, Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls are reportedly interested in the star center. However, the Raptors seem to be a more serious suitor, The Athletic’s Sam Amick reported.
“Big man Domantas Sabonis is still worth monitoring in the weeks ahead,” Amick wrote. “When Toronto rolled through town on Wednesday, it wasn’t all that hard to imagine him putting on a Raptors jersey sometime soon … league sources confirmed reports that Toronto is a legitimate possibility as we approach the deadline.”
Sabonis’ next destination is something to leep an eye out for the Kings.
