Sacramento Kings’ power forward Domantas Sabonis is a better playmaker than Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic, or at least that is what Kings coach Mike Brown believes, as he places Sabonis in a higher position than Jokic.
In an interview with ESPN, Brown praised both Jokic and Sabonis and their respective skills. However, at the end of the day, the coach believes that their power forward may be on a higher rank than the Nuggets star.
“I’m not saying Domas is better than Jokic or anything like that,” Brown said. “But, to me, that’s why Domas is a better playmaker than Jokic.”
However, the coach made it clear that his opinion is only on playmaking and not an overall rating or evaluation between the two.

So far this season, Domantas Sabonis is averaging 20.8 points per game, 12.7 rebounds, and 6.2 assists. He shoots 62.2% from the field, and 39.5% from beyond the arc. He‘s been consistently achieving double-doubles this season, logging in 21 out of the 23 games he has played for the Kings so far.

Nikola Jokic, on the other hand, has been praised for revolutionizing the center position in basketball. While centers are traditionally known to be a bug power operating closer to the basket, Jokic broke norms by becoming a center that also possessed exceptional playmaking skills and scoring abilities traditionally not expected from centers.
Domantas Sabonis on Father Arvydas: “I’m Nothing Like Him”
Domantas Sabonis’s basketball skills did not come out of nowhere. He can be described as a chip off the old block, as he takes up on his father Arvydas Sabonis, who also made a name for himself in the world of basketball, despite multiple challenges and woes he has faced throughout his career.

In the same father-and-son interview with ESPN, both Domantas and Arvydas Sabonis reflected on each other’s careers.
“I just feel bad because I’m nothing like him,” Domantas said. “He’s at a whole different level, so it’s not the same. You know how some legends never die? Well, it’s hard. I’m just another basketball player. He’s a legend.”
“I’m very happy the Sabonis blood is there and showing [well],” Arvydas said. “My story, it ended short. Now comes a Sabonis with a long story.”
Domantas Sabonis so far has been recognized as a three-time NBA All-Star and a two-time NBA rebounding leader, among his other achievements and accolades.
