President Donald Trump found a defender in one of his advisors, in light of ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith linking the president to the recent arrests involving people from the NBA.
In a post on X, Alex Bruesewitz, one of the advisors for President Donald Trump, defended the president from the recent claims made by Stephen A. Smith. In his post, Bruesewitz called Smith’s claims as “incredibly stupid.”

“Don’t get me wrong, I like Stephen A. Smith,” he said. “I agree with a lot of what he says. But every once in a while, he says something so incredibly stupid. This is one of those times. This NBA investigation started four years ago during the Biden administration. Trump had nothing to do with it.”

FBI Director Kash Patel also talked about the linking of the president to the matter, something he called as one of the “dumbest” things he has heard.
“I’m the FBI director,” Patel said, when asked. “I decide which arrests to conduct and which not to conduct. That may be the single dumbest thing I’ve ever heard out of anyone in modern history, and I live most of my time in Washington, D.C.”
Patel also commented on how Smith’s analysis lacked legal depth and failed to recognize the broader risks of gambling-related misconduct in professional sports. He also suggested that Smith’s influence could sway public perception in ways that undermine the integrity of ongoing investigations.
Analysts, Social Media Users Blast Stephen A. Smith for Donald Trump Accusation
Over at X, sports analyst Robert Littal gave his honest take on the bold claim made by ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith, which alleged Dondald Turtmp having a personal hand on the recent arrests linked to gambling activities in the NBA.

For Littal, Sith’s endgame could be to pit the US President against Los Angeles Lakers veteran star LeBron James, with whom he had a long-standing feud.
“Is Stephen A. trying to send Trump on LeBron? Is that the long game here?” he said.

Fans also gave comments, with some agreeing that the ESPN analyst should keep out of the topic.
“SAS don’t know a damn thing,” one said. “The investigation happened way before Trump took office. He’s just bringing Trump name up to make himself seem important. F*** him.”
“Bron got ‘he had a heart attack in his sleep’ money,” another fan said. “SAS better stop playin on his name unless he got some real evidence on him.”
Donald Trump, so far, has not commented on the allegations made by Smith.
