Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr is once again making it clear how he feels about U.S. President Donald Trump. The longtime coach, known for being outspoken on politics, said he’ll be joining a “No Kings” rally over the weekend — another chapter in his years of pushing back against Trump.
After the Warriors’ preseason finale against the LA Clippers on Friday, Kerr was asked what his plans were before the regular season tips off. His answer, as usual, carried that dry Kerr humor.

“Tomorrow, I’ll go to a No Kings rally because I hate America,” Kerr said. “That’s what I heard. If you go, you hate America.”
Question: What’s the plan for the next couple of days as the team prepares for opener.

He’s never hidden his feelings about Donald Trump, dating all the way back to 2016. Across his 12 seasons with Golden State, Kerr has led the team to four titles and visited the White House twice — celebrating the 2015 win with Barack Obama and the 2022 one with Joe Biden. The Trump era, of course, was skipped entirely.

‘No Kings’ Rally against Donald Trump draws millions
By Saturday, massive “No Kings” rallies had filled the streets in every state. Organizers said over 2,700 events were held nationwide, with crowds estimated at around seven million people. Huge turnouts were reported in major cities like New York, D.C., Los Angeles, Chicago, and Boston. Even places like Birmingham, Alabama, and Billings, Montana — deep-red areas — saw people join in.
The movement drew support from across the Democratic spectrum. Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton both voiced approval, along with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders, who each framed the protests as a pushback against creeping authoritarianism under Trump.
