US President Donald Trump may be personally part of an upcoming demolition job against sports leagues, including the WNBA, at least as alleged by analyst Stephen A. Smith. However, WNBA fans are not convinced that people are even involved in betting on the league as Smith may think.
Over at X, a video of Stephen A. Smith was shared, where he accused Donald Trump of coming after the sports league, with the WNBA likely next. However, for some fans, the idea of people betting on the WNBA is unlikely.

NEW: ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith says the NBA game-rigging mafia-linked scandal uncovered by the FBI is President Trump’s revenge, says this is only the beginning.
“Don’t be surprised that the WNBA is next on his list.”

“Lol, he thinks people gamble on WNBA games,” one fan said, referring to Smith’s claims.
For others, the WNBA may be investigated for rigging for reasons Smith may not be expecting.
“Because all the players (unintentionally) look like they are trying to throw the game,” another fan said.
Stephen A. Smith’s statement linking Trump to the recent arrests on alleged gambling activities within the NBA also gained comments from other people across social media. Alex Bruesewitz, one of Trump’s advisors, described his claims as “incredibly stupid.”
“Don’t get me wrong, I like Stephen A. Smith,” he said. “I agree with a lot of what he says. But every once in a while, he says something so incredibly stupid. This is one of those times. This NBA investigation started four years ago during the Biden administration. Trump had nothing to do with it.”
FBI Director Kash Patel, meanwhile, was asked in an interview about his take on the matter. He described the analyst’s claims as one of the “dumbest” things he has heard.
“I’m the FBI director,” Patel said, when asked. “I decide which arrests to conduct and which not to conduct. That may be the single dumbest thing I’ve ever heard out of anyone in modern history, and I live most of my time in Washington, D.C.”
Is Donald Trump a Fan of Basketball?
In a post on X back in 2020, Donald Trump called the NBA out for being “highly political,” and urged other sports leagues not to follow suit unless they want to suffer the same dip in ratings that the NBA went through.

“People are tired of watching the highly political NBA,” Trump posted. “Basketball ratings are WAY down, and they won’t be coming back. I hope football and baseball are watching and learning because the same thing will be happening to them. Stand tall for our Country and our Flag!!!”

So far, Donald Trump has not addressed the claims of his involvement in any crackdown on sports gambling.
