US President Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony lacked one big name in attendance, former first lady Michelle Obama. While her husband was seen at the inauguration, Michelle Obama apparently declined the invitation to attend the star-studded historic event. While the former first lady has been awfully quiet for the last few years after her husband’s two terms as POTUS, Mrs. Obama recently opened up in an interview, and explained why she didn’t attend the inauguration.

According to a reel shared by Ayesha Curry, wife of Golden State Warriors power forward Steph Curry, Michelle Obama learnt about the power of ‘no’ in the last few years after stepping back from politics. She decided to not attend President Donald Trump’s inauguration, all because she wanted to focus on her mental health. Ayesha Curry, who is a big fangirl of Michelle Obama, just like millions of other girls, shared the reel along with an inspiring caption.

“The first book “Becoming” enlightened me on the power of NO. Life changing two letter word.” 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Ayesha Curry captioned her Instagram post, while sharing a clip of Michelle Obama speaking. Curry referred to ‘Becoming’ in her caption, which is one of the books that the former first lady has written.

Before she explained herself declining an invite to perhaps the most important state event in the US, Michelle Obama was the subject of numerous critics who went on to troll her for reportedly not showing respect to the POTUS. Meanwhile, many others pinpointed that the Obamas are having marital issues between them, as former POTUS Barack Obama was seen at the event without his wife.

Donald Trump’s Inauguration MIA Stirred Up Rumors For The Obamas

Michelle Obama seemed to know well about the rumors that were going around after she chose to decline the invitation to Donald Trump’s inauguration. However, the former first lady of the United States seems to be in a much better place mentally and emotionally after her husband’s second term as POTUS.

According to her recent interview, Michelle Obama has been going to therapy, mainly in order to learn to say, “No!”. Obama was apparently not used to this skill set, and decided to use it to decline going to Donald Trump’s inauguration. While Michelle Obama does not harbor any negative feelings toward Trump, it is true that she does not stand for all his values, especially since both of them are siding with two different parties.
