The entire NBA is on watch with whatever’s going on with the Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler. The two parties are at a stalemate. The organization is holding on from trading away Butler who’s requested a trade in the middle of the 2024-25 season.

Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green is the most recent figure to provide their opinion on the Heat-Butler drama. Green believes the six-time All-Star wants to remain competitive and cannot achieve that in Miami.

“I’ve actually been hearing the last couple of years they have been tired of Jimmy, Jimmy was kind of tired of them,” Green said, “I think Jimmy was kinda a little more so enjoyed living in Miami… I think he more so enjoyed his life and what comes with him being the face of the Miami Heat.

“Again, Jimmy is a very serious guy and takes his craft seriously, I don’t want this to come off the wrong way. I just think, he had a good thing there where he’s going in the NBA Finals, he’s the man in Miami and I think all of those things made what he was going through bearable.”

Since Butler requested a trade, the organization has given him a seven-game suspension. In a statement released by the Heat, they suspended the star forward “for multiple instances of conduct detrimental to the team.”

“We have suspended Jimmy Butler for seven games for multiple instances of conduct detrimental to the team over the course of the season and particularly the last several weeks,” the team said in a statement. “Through his actions and statements, he has shown he no longer wants to be part of this team.”

A local radio host believes the Miami Heat should hand the keys to Nikola Jovic

Throughout the issues the Miami Heat have faced this season, local radio host Brendan Tobin suggests that the team should shift their focus to a different player.

“Heat fans need to realize in the moment when a moment is happening,” Tobin said Wednesday, “and I’m telling you right now: the franchise is getting turned over to this kid.”

“There’s just a confidence this kid has played with,” Tobin explained. “There’s a demeanor that he plays with. [There is] something about him that just feels like something’s flipped … but we are here… The Jović era is upon us.”

Jovic is in his third season in the league, averaging 9.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists. The Serbian player has gradually improved since being drafted 27th overall in 2022 by the Miami Heat.
