Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was confirmed to have sustained a calf injury as a result of what happened during their recent game with the Washington Wizards, an NBA insider confirmed on social media today. This meant, among other things, that Green could not be expected to make an appearance at any Warriors game anytime soon.

In a post on X, NBA insider Brett Siegel revealed details on the status of the injury of Draymond Green, which he sustained early on during the Warrior’s recent game against the Washington Wizards.

“Warriors’ Draymond Green, who exited Saturday’s game against the Wizards due to a strained left calf, underwent an MRI yesterday,” Siegel posted.

“The MRI confirmed that Green suffered a mild calf strain. He will be re-evaluated in one week.”

So far this season, Green is averaging 8.4 points per game, 6 rebounds, and 5.5 assists. Green is usually utilized by the Warriors for his playmaking abilities, including doing assists, as opposing teams often take full-on defense against Steph Curry, with the goal of preventing him from making his play.

Draymond Green Gives Subtle Message After Poole Quote: “I Really Am Sorry”

In a post-game interview, Washington Wizards shooting guard Jordan Poole expressed his respect and admiration for his former teammates over at the Warriors, despite having an experience of altercation with Draymond Green in the past.

“Yeah, I love those guys over there. I love most of those guys over there,” Poole told reporters after the game. “A really good group. A really good staff. Shout out to the fans. I saw a lot of 3 jerseys out there, a lot of JP3 jerseys, which is always really cool. I always get a lot of love [here]. I spent some good quality time here, and it’s dope to see it appreciated.”

Draymond Green responded to Poole’s statement via X with a simple reaction that said: “I really am sorry.”

In October 2022, Green and Poole had an argument that ended up with Green throwing a punch at his teammate. Green was fined for his actions and took a voluntary leave of absence. Poole was eventually traded off to the Wizards.

Since then, Draymond Green has repeatedly expressed regret over what happened, at one point even calling it “one of the biggest mistakes” of his career. He acknowledged Poole’s role in the Warriors’ 2022 lineup, and how the incident affected the entire team’s dynamic.
