The Golden State Warriors, set to host Klay Thompson and the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday, made key changes in their squad this season and according to Draymond Green, that is among the reasons why they are playing different this time.

The four-time NBA All-Star said they are deeper now compared to the year before. They may have not the biggest line-up, with the tallest one standing at 6’9, but their depth is different.
Green said they first talked about how they were running out of options due to the available players last season.
“Often times when you talk about depth, you talking about how deep you can go, just to show how many guys you can play. The main reason depth is important because you know, we remember last year, Steph and Steve were talking about the lineups and just kind of running out of options on lineups that we can go to, and this year it’s the total opposite,” he said.
This time they are more versatile.
“We can go small, we can have a shooting line-up. We can have a defensive line-up.”

New players on the Warriors line-up are Buddy Hield, Kyle Anderson, and DeAnthony Melton. Others who are back full time for them are Gary Payton II, Moses Moody, and Brandin Podziemski.
Draymond Green wants to do well in NBA Cup
The Dallas Mavericks game was just not about the return of Thompson to Chase Center, a reunion many predict to be emotional. It is also about redemption for the Warriors in the NBA In-Season tournament now called NBA Emirates Cup.

Green said he is hoping to do better this time.
“We have a very important In-Season Tournament game on Tuesday. We bombed it last year and I’m looking forward to having a better turnout in it this year.”
The Warriors, currently 8-2 in the standings and tied with the Phoenix Suns for second spot, finished only third in West Group C.
They missed the playoffs.
