In a post on Instagram, Dwight Howard posted photos of himself and his ex-wife, Amber Rose, in a red carpet premiere event they attended. The two were seen as sweet and affectionate towards each other, and Howard’s caption proved it further.

In a comment, Amber Rose shot back words of affection towards the NBA star.

“I was told that there was a contract and then I was so happy [but] my agent called me back and said, ‘Hey. The Lakers took the contract off the table. You gotta take that tweet down,” he shared. “I was like, ‘Damn! Why would they do that?’ I came in with the right attitude towards winning, not worried about points, rebounds… just worried about us winning another championship.

Upon the swap, Howard expressed his disappointment with not having played with the Lakers in a title defense year. He said he was upset he did not “get a chance to compete for a title defense,” adding that he thought they “had a special team,” while also saying the players could have won “multiple more rings,” had they had the opportunity and privilege to play together more.
Dwight Howard has been a three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year, an eight-time All-Star, and an NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020, and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2025. He had an 18-year career with 19,000+ points and 14,000+ rebounds.
