Anthony Edwards let his emotions get the best of him in the Minnesota Timberwolves‘ 111-102 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night in front of 18,997 fans at crypto.com Arena.
The Wolves finished February losing five of their last seven games. On Thursday night, Edwards scored 18 points, six rebounds, and five assists against the Lakers.
A one-game suspension for Anthony Edwards

Per ESPN‘s Tim MacMahon, Edwards is facing a one-game automatic suspension following the contest for his behavior during the matchup.
Edwards was ejected from the contest with 5:21 to play in the third quarter after he drew his second technical foul, his fourth since the All-Star break. Edwards received his first technical of the night when he was involved in a shoving match with Lakers forward Jarred Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt was called for a technical as well.
Edwards was called for a second technical for using profanity towards a game official.
Minnesota Timberwolves coach on Edwards

Timberwolves coach Chris Finch called out Edwards after the game.
“He’s got to be better,” Chris Finch said. “He’s had too many outbursts. I think a lot of them are deserved. They’re going to miss some calls from time to time for sure, so he’s got to be better. We’ve been talking to him about it, so it’s on him.”
Edwards hopes the league will rescind the second technical.
“Whatever they’re gonna do, bruh,” Edwards told ESPN after the game. “I don’t even know. They should [rescind the second technical].”
If the league rescinds the second technical, Edwards would not be suspended.
Minnesota needs their best player on the court as the team tries to stay afloat for the playoff chase.
Following their loss to the Lakers, the Timberwolves are in eighth place in the Western Conference at 32-28. They are half a game back from the LA Clippers, who hold the No. 6 seed.
