Ben Simmons played 50 games last season between the Brooklyn Nets and the Los Angeles Clippers. That was the most he’s seen ever since leaving the Philadelphia 76ers in 2022.

The three-time All-Star had a fresh start with the Clippers. He even had his most productive in years when he scored 12 points, seven rebounds, six assists, three steals in his debut for them. That’s the only glowing stint he had. He was barely used in the playoffs and the Clippers fall to the Denver Nuggets in seven games in the first round.
Simmons now has a chance of going unsigned before the start of the season. From earning a $170 million deal six years ago, he is now only worth a veteran minimum.
“The interest has been lukewarm,” NBA insider Brian Windhorst said.
“The reality is, he’s looking at the minimum contract. He might even be forced to take a contract where he’s not guaranteed. At the end of the day Ben Simmons stock has been falling dramatically for years.”

Simmons’ prime years are past him based on how he’s career has fallen off. He was a player who can impact both sides of the floor with the Sixers but now, he is buried deep on the bench.
It was not all his fault though as he has been dealing with back injury in the last three years, making it harder for him to move and run on the floor.
Ben Simmons should retire
It’s only getting worse for him. Reports claimed his agent Bernie Lee reportedly cut ties with him.
Hoops Wire wrote that there’s no real interest on his services.
“I don’t think there’s any real interest in him beyond teams putting out some feelers,” the scout told Hoops Wire. “So if he does (retire), he and his agent can spin it as if it’s being done by choice.”

One-time NBA champion Jeff Teague thought Simmons should retire instead.
“He earned $203 million, that’s a good lot… He’s done now… Ben Simmons, he got fans over here, we’d love for you to sit down with us and talk, cause yeah, it’s over. It’s over. Bro, y’all seen him when he was playing? He can’t move no more, he runs like people on 2K.”
