Victor Wembanyama is the franchise-changing player the San Antonio Spurs need and found after several years at the bottom. He is about to change not just the Spurs but the entire league after the team introduced a new tradition that people were say were imported from Europe.

The Spurs beat the Oklahoma City Thunder for a second straight time. They beat them in the NBA Cup semis in Vegas and on Monday at the Frost Bank Center in Texas.
The win can also mean that the Spurs are changing the narrative about OKC who appeared invincible in the first 25 games. Wemby said they are not yet the Thunder’s rivals but said they are getting close there.
Victor Wembanyama doubled down on this not yet being a rivalry between the #Spurs and Thunder. Says it takes years and years for it to turn into such. I asked him what it might feel like when that happens.

To make it more exciting, they decided to introduce something that many thought what the league lacks. A EuroLeague like interaction between teams, fans, and players.

What they just did is called Viking Thunder clap which is very fitting since they just beat the Thunder. It was made famous by Iceland in the 2018 FIFA World Cup but the France also started adopting it in more recent edition of the competition.

Fans love what Victor Wembanyama just introduced
Reception of the new tradition Wemby introduced were good both inside the Frost Bank and NBA X. A whole arena participating in a Thunder clap, who wouldn’t love that?
Even reporters love it.
Gotta be honest, for the first 20 or so seconds of this video, I was cringing and kind of dying a little on the inside, and by the end it had me totally locked in. https://t.co/4w16Y7wHDh
