Anthony Edwards tried to make a young fan’s night during the Washington Wizards vs. Minnesota Timberwolves match. But a woman in the stands had her own nasty plan to steal the moment.

The Timberwolves guard allegedly gave away his game-worn jersey during Sunday’s blowout win over Washington, which could have been a heartwarming ambiance overall. But it turned into a viral controversy, and folks on social media didn’t go light on the greedy woman.
Woman Gets Slammed for Stealing Anthony Edwards Jersey From Innocent Kid
After a much-needed win against the Miami Heat, Edwards stepped inside the Capital One Arena on Sunday and torched the Washington Wizards in a blowout (141-115) win. Ant-Man dropped 35 points throughout the total 35 minutes he was on the court.
When Edwards sat on the bench, he spotted a young fan a few rows back. The kid had that same look that a young Edwards once had when looking at Kevin Durant.
At that time of the game, he had very little to no chance of needing to return to the court. So, Edwards took off his jersey and tossed it to a lady, with the intention that she’d pass it on to the kid. The throw landed perfectly in her lap.

Suddenly, two people on either side of her began gesturing in opposite directions. One seemed to be telling her to keep it. The other appeared to suggest the jersey was for someone else nearby.
She looked confused at first glance in the video, but suddenly she clutched the jersey tight even after people around her pointed toward the kid behind her. Whoever saw the clip was caught off guard to see a grown woman literally play dumb against a little school kid.
The clip has since turned viral on X. Folks exploded as the woman kept the jersey despite clear signals to pass it along.
“Dumb b— wow,” one fan fired off without hesitation.
Another observed the woman’s body language and noted, “Lmao Karen acting like she dunno wtf going on.”
Some fans admitted they’d do the same thing under different circumstances. “Me if that was Wemby, sorry kid,” one person confessed.
The most viral response channeled Michael Jordan’s infamous line, penning, “F– them kids.”
The woman quickly became public enemy number one among Timberwolves fans. Ant, though, has a reputation for treating fans well. He saw the whole thing from the bench and didn’t want the kid to go home upset. So he signed another Timberwolves jersey and made sure the kid got it.
