The Milwaukee Bucks won’t have Giannis Antetokounmpo for at least two weeks. On Monday, Antetokounmpo suffered a groin injury, which caused him to exit the team’s 118-106 loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Greek Freak left the game in the second quarter, ending his night with 14 points, five rebounds and four assists on 60% shooting from the field.
Before he suffered a groin injury, Antetokounmpo had only missed two games early in the 2025-26 NBA season. His output on both ends has been crucial to the Bucks. As the lone star for the team, the Greek star has averaged 31.2 points, 10.8 rebounds and 6.8 assists.
On Tuesday, the Bucks confirmed that Antetokounmpo will miss at least one to two weeks of action. It’s a significant blow for the team as he’s the No. 1 option.

After the team confirmed Giannis Antetokounmpo’s injury, fans started to panic for the Bucks’ season. Here are some of what the fans said.
“Injured on another no call… if the refs would call it, they would stop fouling him as hard as they do,” a fan said.
“2 injuries per day, at this rate we are going to have Draymond Green as an All star,” another fan commented.
“Giannis could get decapitated mid game by a player and it probably wouldnt even be a flagarant,” one fan complained.
“This is what happens when you allow players to drag him to the ground every play,” one fan said.
“NBA won’t exist in 10 years if they don’t find a way to fix this injury problem,” someone commented.
“Wemby and now Giannis that sucks,” a comment read.
“Bruh he was supposed to be mvp,” a fan commented.
The Bucks are currently 8-7 this season.
Bucks coach gave an assurance that Giannis Antetokounmpo’s injury isn’t that bad

Losing their best player to injury isn’t something that the Bucks want to experience this season. Milwaukee could experience difficulty without Giannis Antetokounmpo in the lineup. Fortunately for the group, the All-Star forward didn’t suffer anything major, according to head coach Doc Rivers.
On Tuesday, Rivers appeared as a guest on Bucks+ Audio’s “Courtside with Gale Klappa” podcast. During his appearance, he revealed that Antetokounmpo’s setback isn’t a bad one.
“I don’t know what grade it is, but I know it’s not a bad one, so that’s good news for us,” Rivers said. “But yet still, probably two weeks he’ll be out. And we’ll see. Hopefully less, but most likely in that area.”
Rivers also said after Monday’s loss that Antetokounmpo injured his groin in the opening quarter.
“He grabbed his groin, I think in the first quarter, and I asked him right away,” Rivers said. “He said it was fine. Then I think he grabbed it again and said it was fine. And then on the third time, you know, that’s when it happened. But I think it happened before, in my opinion.”
