Former NBA players Chandler Parsons and Lou Williams took issue with what Patrick Beverley said about Russell Westbrook. Beverley declared Westbrook the greatest point guard of all time in a clip from his show “The Pat Bev Pod” uploaded on X (previously Twitter) on November 27. Parsons and Williams disagreed with his perspective, though.
Beverley spoke highly of his former teammate following his record-setting career milestone where he recorded his 200th triple-double. According to the defensive guard, he believes Westbrook is the best point guard in NBA history, based on skills alone.
Beverley argued that no other point guard could achieve Westbrook’s record of 200 triple-doubles. Even with that, however, the hosts of the show aren’t convinced.
“I think he’s a top five point guard,” Parsons said. “You gotta give the nod to guys like Magic, Chris Paul, Steve Nash… Jason Kidd. He’s top five.”
“There’s no such thing as THE in the ‘in sports’ for real,” Williams chimed in. “It’s always one of.”
Parsons agreed with the three-time Sixth Man of the Year and brought up the GOAT discussion.
“Yeah. I think Steph Curry’s the best point guard of all time but a lot of people would say Magic or someone else. Lot of people would think LeBron versus Jordan. He’s top five, I’d put him.”
“It’s an invisible crown, it’s not a real thing… It’s one of,” Williams added.

Russell Westbrook made a name for himself with his tenacity on the floor. With how he played, the former Oklahoma City Thunder star became one of the best point guards in the league. In his career, the former UCLA star became a nine-time All-Star, nine-time All-NBA and one-time regular season MVP.
How has Russell Westbrook performed for the Nuggets this season?
Russell Westbrook may be past his prime but he still adds value to the Nuggets as their best player off the bench. The former star point guard has played 19 games this season, averaging 11.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 6.0 assists while shooting 36.1% from deep.
Westbrook played his 20th game of the season on Thursday in a 126-114 loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He played 15 minutes off the bench and had a 10-point, three-rebound and three-assist performance. The 6-foot-4 guard played an all-around game and had one steal and one block.

Westbrook has transformed his style of play into a sparkplug off the bench and the Nuggets have benefitted from it. He’s the team’s sixth-best scorer. Through the first 20 games of the year, the point guard has scored at least double digits ten times this season.
