Former Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel has been a full time NBA coach for more than a decade but some still have the audacity to discredit for that one time that he won the ring.

The Bubble in 2020 was one of the more strenuous seasons in league history as it was held without fans in Orlando. Home court advantage is huge in the playoffs but everyone who made the postseason did not have it.
Some people don’t see that though and they think the Lakers had an easy path to their 16th championship. They call the 2020 title a fake ring, Mickey Mouse title, and more. Vogel wants to shut down these notions.
“I don’t really subscribe to the fact that teams that lost get to just say, ‘We didn’t want to be there,’” Vogel said in an interview with Dan Woike of The Athletic.

The Lakers, who were led by Lebron James and Anthony Davis at that time, are champions. It’s fact. Vogel is a title-winning coach and he is now taking his expertise after getting hired as an assistant by the Dallas Mavericks who is coached by Jason Kidd, his former assistant with the Lakers.
Frank Vogel got one fact wrong
He justified his stance by saying that the Lakers were number one all-season long. However, he got that part wrong.
“We entered the bubble as the number one team in the league, the number one seed. We were gonna win that thing, whether it was in the bubble or whether it was in Staples Center. We were winning that thing. We had that belief.

The Milwaukee Bucks, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, was the dominant even before the Bubble. It is the reason why the Greek Freak won both the MVP and the Defensive Player of the Year in 2020.
The Bucks finished the regular season with 56-17 record while the Lakers were 52-19. They were also the statistical leaders as a team in terms of points per game, rebounds per game, and even plus/minus.
