Draymond Green has the reputation of someone who is a bruiser and is willing to step on the rules just to get his way. This is why Houston Rockets guard Fred Van Vleet hilariously trolled the Golden State Warriors forward for claiming he is cool with Steven Adams.

“Me and Steven Adams don’t really get into it much… I think there’s a mutual respect there,” Green said in his podcast with Baron Davis where FVV is present as a guest.
The trio talked about Van Vleet’s dynamics with his Rockets teammate and when Green brought up his supposed ‘good fellowship’ wiwth the Kiwi center, he couldn’t help but laugh and bring up the times they figured in some physicality.
There was an intense rivalry between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Warriors years back and the physicality was intense. It reached its peak when Green kicked Adams in the groin. Not once but twice in two different games.
Green explained to FVV and their listeners that his kicks were unintentional.
“Listen. Number one, I was selling the call,” he said accompanied by exaggerated reactions.

Adams probably believed him back then as there was no confrontation that happened after the play.
It would be interesting to see how Green will behave once they face the Rockets again, especially now that Adams is back healthier to stop him while having extra physical and irritant Dillon Brooks with him.
Steven Adam’s reaction to Draymond Green’s kick
Adams is known as the strongest man in the league, just immovable during physical confrontations.
He could be the guy that has the strongest and longest patience, too.

The 31-year-old center put down any possible rivalry with Green right away when he recognized that Green did not intend to kick him in the groin in 2019.
“Ummmmm … (long pause) … that’s a tough one,” the New Zealand native said recently on the “Lowe Post” podcast. “It is. That’s a tough one. Nah, nah, he didn’t. I think he wanted to flail — he intentionally wanted to flail — but I don’t think (he thought), ‘Let me just pinpoint, accurate, shin right into old mate’s crown jewels.’ I don’t think he thought that.
The Rockets and the Warriors will meet again on December 6.
