Stephen Curry just ended any debate about a Golden State Warriors-Sacramento Kings rivalry with five brutal words.

After dropping 27 points and 10 assists in the Warriors’ 137-103 blowout victory last night, the four-time champ delivered a reality check. With the Kings at 8–30 and the Warriors at 21–18, Curry said there’s no real rivalry beyond the teams sharing a location.
Stephen Curry Delivers Ice-Cold Response to Kings Rivalry Question
A reporter asked Curry postgame if the Warriors and Kings remain rivals heading into 2026, but nobody expected in the postgame discussion room to get a circumlocutory response from the 37-year-old.
“Geographically, yeah,” Curry said with a smirk. “That’s about it.”

The quote has since turned viral online, as Curry didn’t hesitate or sugarcoat it while talking about his chocolate drink. Irony? The chef cooked Sacramento on the court, then roasted them in the presser.
Their backstory makes Curry’s blunt dismissal even more groundbreaking. Just to recap, both franchises met in the 2023 playoffs. The meeting was not juicy at all for Kings, as Warriors won Game 7 behind Curry’s historic 50-point performance.
Though Kings flipped the equation in the very next season, they collapsed this season again and remained in no way matchable compared to the Warriors. The roster lacks depth, defense, and identity, except for Sabonis, who is their only consistent performer.

Curry spent most of the fourth quarter on the bench as the Warriors emptied the rotation. Sacramento was embarrassed on national TV, and the two-time MVP twisted the knife afterward.

His response wasn’t disrespectful — it was honest because many on social media shared their agreement with Curry’s blunt take.
Some are still processing how cold-blooded the response was, but Warriors Nation loved every second of it.
One fan wrote, “Kings never been a dynasty.”
Another added, “Facts though, Kings are not even worthy to be mentioned in the same sentence.”
A third claimed, “He just knows how to clear his responses.”
The fourth shared, “Where are all the kings radio guys who were trolling warriors fans that year and during the series, theyve been mia.”
A fifth fan noted, “Yall should know old people tell the truth.”

The Kings have two more regular-season matchups against Golden State in April. Both games will be brutal for Sacramento unless something changes drastically. But for now, safe to say, the Warriors own them psychologically.
