Giannis Antetokounmpo-Victor Wembanyama Rumor Could Change Everything for the Spurs

Fans have started speculating on trade rumors involving Giannis Antetokounmpo. This came after ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the Greek star had begun discussions with the Milwaukee Bucks regarding his future. The Bucks are 9-13 in the Eastern Conference, and fans have started to lose hope of making the playoffs.

Before the start of the 2025-26 season, rumors circulated that Antetokounmpo might be traded out of Milwaukee. However, that never materialized, and the two-time MVP remains with the team that drafted him. Unfortunately for the star, he hasn’t had much success this year.

With the hardships the Bucks have endured early in the year, Antetokounmpo’s future is starting to be questioned. Amid the talk about the forward’s career, several teams have been linked as potential trade destinations.

One team reported to be a trade destination for Giannis Antetokounmpo was the San Antonio Spurs. According to a report, the Spurs will “aggressively” pursue the star forward. Aside from the Spurs, the New York Knicks are expected to be determined trade partners to land Antetokounmpo.

This could create a nightmare frontcourt duo with Victor Wembanyama. Both stars are extremely talented on both ends and have a length advantage. At 6-foot-11, Antetokounmpo has a 7-foot-3 wingspan. Wemby, on the other hand, has an 8-foot reach that pairs well with his 7-foot-3 height.

A duo of Antetokounmpo and Wembanyama could change everything for the Spurs. They could acquire a forward who’s already won a championship to help their young core.

Max Kellerman said the Spurs should do everything to trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo

Securing a star of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s caliber could make the Spurs into clear title contenders. Even longtime analyst Max Kellerman believes it’s only right for San Antonio to pursue the star forward. Kellerman appeared as a guest on “The Bill Simmons Podcast” and told the host that the franchise should make the Antetokounmpo-Wemby duo a reality.

“That’s the one. If I’m San Antonio, I’m doing whatever it takes to get Giannis,” Kellerman said. “If I’m San Antonio, I have to do that. It’s kind of what I’m rooting for to happen, I want to see it.”

Simmons, on the other hand, believes the Atlanta Hawks could give it a shot to trade for the nine-time All-Star.

“If Atlanta got Giannis without giving up Jalen Johnson or Dyson Daniels, or even Risacher, they keep their team that has this really cool identity right now without Trae,” the host said. ““It would be Trae Young, Porzingis, who is an expiring. They have that Bucks pick, the worst of Bucks or New Orleans’ first. They have all their own firsts.

Antetokounmpo’s future is in the air, and teams could make their best offers to the Bucks to secure one of the best talents.
