Draymond Green explained his side of the story after he went viral for going at head coach Steve Kerr during the Golden State Warriors’ 120-97 home win over the Orlando Magic on Monday night.
During a timeout, Green and Kerr got into a heated argument on the bench. The Golden State Warriors forward eventually walked off the floor and went to the locker room at Chase Center, and didn’t play for the rest of the night. The former Defensive Player of the Year finished with nine points, seven rebounds, and two assists on 4-for-5 shooting in 18 minutes of action.
“Tempers spilled over, and I just thought it was best that I get out of there,” Green explained via ESPN’s Anthony Slater. “I don’t think that was a situation where it was gonna get better. So, it was just best to remove myself. That’s it.”
“We’ve been at this now for a long time. Sometimes you’re with people for a long time, and there’s a level of comfort, and s**t happens. We move forward,” he added.

Golden State Warriors News: Steve Kerr downplays timeout spat with Draymond Green
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr declined to reveal what his discussion with Draymond Green was actually about. However, he reiterated that he didn’t send Green to the locker room after the verbal altercation.
“We got into it, obviously… We had it out a little bit, and he made his decision to go back to the locker room to cool off,” Kerr explained. “That’s all I’m gonna say about it. Everything is private. I’ve got nothing further to add.”
The Golden State Warriors improved to 15-15 after last night’s win. Stephen Curry led the way with 26 points, three rebounds, six assists, two steals, and four three-pointers on 10-for-23 shooting, while Jimmy Butler, Moses Moody, and Brandin Podziemski added 21, 20, and 16 points, respectively. On the other hand, Jonathan Kuminga picked up another DNP-CD.
