After months of speculation, Jonathan Kuminga and his camp have agreed on a two-year, $48.5 million contract with the Golden State Warriors, which includes a team option.

Kuminga opened up on his new deal during Media Day, and the Golden State Warriors forward called out the fake fans who were “in their feelings” during the negotiation saga.
“I feel like a lot of fans get in their feelings. And it’s mostly not the ones that actually be at the games. It’s the ones that just be at home on social media,” Kuminga said via 95.7 The Game.

“The actual fans that come here every other day and support us, they are the real MVPs… The people I talk to. The front office. The coaches. They know how committed I am to this team,” he added.
Golden State Warriors News: Mike Dunleavy Jr. shares true feelings on Jonathan Kuminga’s new contract
Golden State Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. said he holds no ill will toward Jonathan Kuminga and agent Aaron Turner during the tense contract negotiations between the two parties this offseason.

“Well, as far as the negotiations go, it was fair, reasonable, no issues on my end,” Dunleavy said via Nick Avila of NBC Sports. “I think just sometimes these things take time. But by my count, I’m all good with it, feel good about the deal we’ve done and really the deal for JK. I think it’s good for both sides.”
“I would say for us it didn’t affect anything,” he added. “I think from my end as a former player, understanding there’s a shelf life on your career, I’ve got no issues with guys doing whatever they can to get the deals, the things they want, the money, the teams, the role, all those things you’re looking for as a free agent.”
